By Nancy Gardner

Some women visit the salon often times but others go in scarcely. Salon services are very expensive and this is one of the reasons which make many of the potential clients shy away from these places in an attempt to cut on the budget of hair care. Those with long hair pay even up to double the normal rates. For those seeking other alternatives, natural relaxers for black hair may be the way to go.

Relaxers which are home-made are less costly than getting the job done in the salon. However, do not put your scalp and the health of your hair at risk for a few bucks. That is why before you undertake this you need to know the exact procedure and follow it to the later. Lime and coconut milk are the most popular non-chemical relaxers for black hair. The recipe of creating them is very interesting.

At some point in life, black women wish to have straight hairs. This may be just out of wanting to have the experience or a desire to eliminate the kinkiness of the hairs. It ends up being softer than it was before and forms waves. The outcome is breathtaking.

Chemical relaxers have been associated with many demerits and sometimes can even leave you bald. Instead of having to worry about the possible things which can go wrong if you were to use chemicals to relax you hairs you can just go natural and still achieve the same results peacefully.

The efficiency and safety of the natural kind of relaxers has been confirmed and that is why the techniques have been transferred from one generation to the other. The basic methods for relaxing the hairs naturally are two. The first one is the simplest but the next one produces a better outcome and does not generate much waste.

The first method uses a mixture of milk from coconut and lime. The solution is left to sit for a couple of hours until it foams. It is the foam which is scooped and applied on the mane. After sitting for some hours, it is washed off. The disadvantage of this method is that the foam may break down and run off and also the lime and coconut milk are required in large quantities.

The next ones require addition of cornstarch and olive milk to the mixture made in the first method. Cornstarch should be just one spoon or two. The resulting mixture is whisked under low heat until good consistency is achieved. This means it will be able to remain on the mane. The olive oil added works to hydrate the mane.

After the application, the mane has to be wrapped with a shower cap for some hours. The material of the cap should be plastic. When it is uncovered, it has to be shampooed and moisturized. The results are very good and the hairs is strengthened too.
