Inside your stomach and throughout your digestive tract, there are millions of microbes that feed off what you eat. The bacteria culture in your gut can not only break down the food you eat so your body can make energy from it, but the culture can also be responsible for a person gaining weight.

Even more problematic is the increase in childhood obesity. Being overweight or obese can lead to health problems regardless of your age. While a child's body and immune system is more adept at handling disease and physical distress, it does have limits. Children who are obese are more likely to remain obese as adults and subsequently run a higher risk of developing obesity related health issues.

For example, if a person eats a very healthy diet that includes a wide variety of foods, they will have a very rich and diverse bacterial culture. If they only eat hot dogs and chocolate, they will have a very narrow spectrum of microbes.

Fat cells produce a variety of hormones which are directly linked to causing cancer when present in high levels. Obesity can also lead to abnormal insulin levels and chronic inflammation, both of which have been linked to cancerous tumor growth in the body.

To decrease your risk of developing cancerous cells in your body, the obvious choice is to lose weight. By managing your diet and incrementally increasing your physical activities, you can significantly reduce your risk of cancer. For some, weight loss surgery can provide a regulated way to lose weight and keep it off.

Although weight loss surgery in Mexico, America and Canada are growing in popularity, there is a much simpler way to lose weight and keep it off. It's not always the easiest thing to do, especially if you have a very hectic lifestyle, but it is possible for everyone to eat more fruits and vegetables and keep themselves at a healthy weight.
